Every once in a while I get a stone that just “wants” to be a ring. That was the case with this one. Of course, with such a big stone I couldn’t go too crazy on the setting, so I decided to use my diamond-patterned silver for the band to get some interest that wouldn’t overpower the labradorite. The stone itself has a great orange fire to it and a nice shimmer, which I echoed by lightly texturing the top edge of the setting. It’s subtle, but it’s there.
